Betty Speegle Aday, 79, passed away on August 29, 2025. Visitation will be Monday, September 1, 2025 from 6-8 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home in Cherokee. The funeral service will be Tuesday, September 2, 2025 at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Greg Corble officiating. Burial will follow in Barton Cemetery.

Betty was a native and life long resident of Colbert County and a member of Shoals Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Billy Wayne Aday; son, Len Aday; her parents, three brothers, and three sisters; son-in-law, Melvin Nix; and grandchildren, Matthew Nix and William Strickland.

Betty is survived by her children, Jeff Aday (Chelle), Barry Aday, Amy Aday Rikard, Betsy Strickland (Eddie), Stephanie Ponder, and Steven Aday (Teresa); sister, Sharon Michael; grandchildren, Jordan Aday (Bailey), Kinsley Cole Smith (Jake), Savanna Cole (Dakota), Anthony Aday (Melodie), Jason Aday, Corey Aday, Tiffany Wise, Jamie Strickland, Tyler Strickland, and Melissa Nix; and great grandchildren, Abigail Vandiver (Bradley), Karleigh Aday (Jay), Blake Aday (Kaylee), Hunter Strickland, Kaylee Strickland, Aaliyah Strickland, Teddy Lee; and a number of great-great grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Jordan Aday, Blake Aday, Anthony Aday, Jamie Strickland, Jay Foster, and Dakota Patterson.

The family expresses special thanks to Betty’s special niece, Debbie Thompson and Enhabit Hospice for all of their care for Betty.
