Marie M. Lucas, 93, of Jones Crossroad, passed away on Thursday, August 28th, 2025. Mrs. Lucas was born on September 14th, 1931, in Alabama, to Earl and Evaline (Miles) McAdams.
Mrs. Lucas is survived by her sons, Larry Lucas (Patty) and Mark Lucas (Laura); grandchildren, Stephanie Moran (Brent), Krystal Shores (Keith), Jerrod Pettus (Stephanie), Ashton McLemore (Allie), Trent Thornton (Crystal), Hollie Thornton, and Amanda Thornton; great-grandchildren, Nathan Moran, Hannah Moran, Lucas Pettus, Logan Cone, Meagan Pettus, Claire Pettus, Kelsi Thornton, Cohen Thornton, Jessie Thornton, Hadley Thornton, Tristian Darby, Trevor Thornton, Trinity Thornton, Megan Parker, Makayla Morgan, Maddox Morgan, and Sophie Thornton.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Evaline McAdams; husband, Gooch Lucas; brother, Bobby McAdams; and sister, Rachel Thompson.
The funeral service will be Tuesday, September 2nd, 2025, at 2:00 p.m., at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home, with Charlie McAdams officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, from 12:00 – 1:45 p.m., at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be David McAdams, Jerrod Pettus, Brent Moran, Bill Keyes, Matthew Thompson, Nathan Moran, Matt Haney, and Bill Gord. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Vance, Keith Shores, and Jim Lucas. Burial will be at Roselawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Lucas loved her cats and square dancing. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
