Obituary of Edna Francis Shipman Edna Shipman, 92, of Corinth, Mississippi went to rest in her eternal home on Sunday, August 3, 2025 at Selmer Post Acute Rehabilitation in Selmer, Tennessee. Edna was born October 23, 1932 to the late William Oswald and Lela Inez “Mama Kemp” Brewer Clement.

Ms. Shipman was a member of Holly Baptist Church. She was a member of the American Legions Auxiliary Club. Edna was a devoted wife for over 65 years to her late husband, Charles Shipman. They travelled frequently and visited many places; Spain, Ireland, Hong Kong, Australia. She was a caregiver with a giant heart that never met a stranger. She worked during WWII manufacturing windshield wipers and leaving encouraging messages for the soldiers in their shipments. Edna loved her family and spent numerous weekends hosting fish fries, playing Rook, and Skip-Bo. She will be forever missed by all that knew her.

Ms. Shipman was welcomed home by her husband, Charles Shipman; her parents; three brothers, Paul Clement, Howard Clement, and Richard Clement; sister, Mildred Suitor; and grandson Tad McAnally.

Ms. Shipman leaves behind her legacy; sons, Mike Shipman and Mark Shipman; grandchildren, Chris Shipman, Bradley Shipman, Nicole Shipman, Julia Shipman, and Ashley Shipman; great grandchildren, Cayleigh Shipman and Elijah Shipman, as well as a host of extended family and friends.

There is a Celebration of Life Service scheduled for Wednesday, August 6, 2025 beginning at twelve o’clock noon at McPeters Funeral Directors in Corinth, Mississippi with Bro. Warren Jones officiating. The family will accept friends Tuesday, August 5, 2025 beginning at five o’clock in the afternoon until eight o’clock in the evening as well as from eleven in the morning until service time on Wednesday. Edna will be interned into the Corinth National Cemetery alongside her husband.
