Truman E. Allums, 91 of Bagley, passed away July 14, 2025.
Mr. Allums was known and respected by everyone in the Bagley community. He was a hard worker. One of his great loves was farming. He was a member and former Deacon of New Temple Baptist Church, where he served for many years. In the words of his pastor, he was “A pillar of the church”. He was a retired coal miner from the Drummond Company Flat Top Mines and was a member of the UMWA. He was also a member of Brooklin Masonic Lodge #704 F&AM.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Peggy Sue Allums; daughter, Cindy Knight; granddaughter, Amy Capps; parents, Elton and Pearl Allums, and his sisters, Onzell Tingle, Orvella Atkinson and Nancy Early and son-in-law, Gary Morrow.
Survivors include his children, Rev. Mike Allums and wife Nita, Lisa Fleming and husband Greg, and Gina Morrow; grandchildren, Kimberly James (Talmadge), Dan Allums (Lana), Jill Luna (Ryan), Malea Sloan (Adam) and Isabella Fleming; great grandchildren, Milly, Kameryn and Heidi Tucker, Beau and Brock James, Marshall, Kendall and Campbell Allums, Deacon, Penny and Truman Luna and Barrett Sloan; several other relatives and a host of friends.
Memorial services will be held Sunday July 20, 25 at 4:00 pm at New Temple Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 3-4 pm at the church,
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the New Temple Baptist Church Building Fund at 4501 Greathouse Rd. Dora, AL 35062.
