Charles Grimes, 96, passed away peacefully at Riverview Regional Medical Cen-ter on Thursday June 5, 2025.
He was born in Itawamba County in Tremont, MS. He is survived by his son Gary Grimes (Kim), his step-children, JoAnne Maglio (Beni), Barbara J. Hampton, Arthur W. Gransee (Cleo), Deborah L. Decker (Dale), and; his brother Royce Grimes, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Charlie was also blessed to have some very dear friends whom he loved very much.
He is preceded in death by both his parents, Rochester and Verna Jane Grimes his wife Madelyn Grimes, daughter Kay Hughes, his step-daughter and son-in-law Jacqueline and Paul Patock, step son-in-law, Charles Hampton, and his brother Junior Grimes.
He was a Korean War Veteran and later retired from Goodyear in Gadsden, AL. He loved music and was very passionate about Church and his faith in Jesus Christ. He was a faithful member of Pentecostal Tabernacle in Decatur AL. In his final days he repeated “God will never leave me nor forsake me” Deut. 31:6.
