Rev. J.T. Williams, age 77, of the Pine Ridge community, passed away Thursday, June 5, 2025 at his residence. Mr. Williams was born in Dekalb County on June 10, 1947 to the late Albert and Lucille Scott Williams. He was employed as a welder and worked at Vulcraft for 44 years. He was the pastor of New Genesis Baptist Church and was a minister of the gospel for 53 years.
Funeral services will be 2:00pm Monday, at the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerry Williams and Rev. Jared Sims officiating. Burial will follow in the Glenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 12:00 until 8:00pm; and Monday from 10:00am until the 2:00pm hour of service at the funeral home.
Mr. Williams is survived by his wife of 54 years, Darlene Evett Williams; children, Ginger Casey (Brent) and Joshua Williams (Maegan); brothers, Troy “Sonny” Williams and LaBron Williams (Lula); chosen Brother, Johnny Lee Hughes; sisters, Barbara Warner and Judy Farmer; grandchildren, Taylor Casey (Alex), Abby Langston (Michael), Emory Williams and Elyse Williams; and great-grandchildren, Henlee Langston and Elliott Casey and Birdie Casey.
He was preceded in death by his son, Jeremy Williams; twin brother, LV Williams; and sisters, Ruth Bouldin and Ruby Clifton.
Those serving as pallbearers include Matthew Ogle, Justin Evett, Van Fugatt, Sid Williams, Chris Blake, Rodney Williams, Chris Farmer, and Aaron Dixon.
