Jomie Dee Lane Chambers, 76, of Athens, Alabama, passed away on May 22, 2025, in Athens, Alabama.
Jomie was born on Tuesday, August 31,1948, to Jommie Grome Chambers and Mattie Marie Davis Chambers in Limestone County, Alabama.
He spent all of his life in Athens, Alabama, where he attended Discovery Church. Jomie worked for the State of Alabama until retirement in 2012 at the Welcome Center in Elkmont.
Jomie loved horses and watching western movies.
Mr. Chambers was preceded in death by both of his parents, two brothers; Johnny Wayne Chambers, Randy Chambers, one stepson, Derrick Deon Smith, two nephews; John Chambers, Chris Nichols, one niece, Melinda Carr Sims.
Jomie is survived by his wife of 18 years, Brenda Cobb Chambers, mother of children, Pauline Brady, one son, Shane (Amberly) Chambers, two daughters; Elaine (Greg) Brady, Juanita Young, , one brother, Billy Chambers, two brothers-in-law; Hubert Cobb, Danny Ray (Rosita) Cobb two sisters; Betty (Larry) Nichols, Norma Lassater, one stepdaughter, Beverly Young, three grandchildren; Matthew (Kelly) Brady, Autumn (Jacob) Adams, Alex Chambers, three great grandchildren; Tenley Brady, Elizabeth Adams, Mazie Brady, four step grandsons; Harley Young, Anthony Young, Thomas Kyle, Walker Kyle, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home in Ardmore, Alabama on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A chapel service will be held at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow in Gatlin Cemetery. Pastor Keith Dais will officiate the service.
Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home will be assisting the family with services.
