Graveside services for Mr. Gary Allen McClellan, age 73, will be held at 2 PM on Tuesday, April 29, 2025 in the Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 11 AM until 1:30 PM in the Shelton-Hunt Funeral Home Chapel

 

Mr. McClellan, the owner of West Tennessee Coffee Service, passed away on Friday, April 25, 2025 peacefully at his home.

 

Mr. McClellan, in addition to having operated his business throughout West Tennessee for over 40 years, was also an accomplished professional musician. Playing drums and vocalizing with the Dixie Waters Band throughout most of the United States as well as Canada. He had been a member of numerous other bands including Night Shift, Flashback, Black Leather and Shiloh. He enjoyed the creativity and comradery playing with many good friends throughout the years. In his earlier years, he worked for Hadley Construction.  Mr. McClellan was a lifelong member of the Jackson Rod and Custom Car Club and the National Street Rod Association and would tell people “all his hobbies had steering wheels”.  He enjoyed going to car shows, He was a Ford and NASCAR enthusiast and enjoyed all forms of racing. His passion was driving his street rods and classic cars whenever he could.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jimmie and Norma McClellan.

 

Mr. McClellan is survived by his wife, Rita Murley McClellan of Humboldt; a sister, Sherry Hill (Chuck) of Humboldt; a brother-in-law, Ed Murley (Beth); a grand-niece, Chloe Marie Murley; and many numerous friends and business associates in the 17 counties in which he and his wife operated an Office Coffee and Water Filtration Service.

 

Mr. McClellan will be sorely missed by all who knew him. Often referred to as “the sweetest man”.   He believed “Life Needs No Red Lights”.
