Mr. Cochran was one of seven children, born in the country outside of Macon in Gray, GA. He married Jan in 1966 and later welcomed their only child, Jill, in 1969. In 2001, he financed the sale of his business to trusted employees in order to retire and move closer to his grandchildren in Fort Payne. He enjoyed watching his two grandchildren grow at a house built right beside their own.
Mr. Cochran was baptized at the age of 29 and was a committed disciple for the rest of his life. After moving to Fort Payne, Mr. Cochran joined First Baptist Church where he taught and served as a deacon. He took part in evangelism, disaster relief, Campers on Mission, church planting, lay renewal, and Sunday School teaching until his dementia diagnosis caused him to rest more at home. Mr. Cochran passed away peacefully in his own home surrounded by his family.
His funeral service will be held at a later date.
