Governor Ivey signed Senate Joint Resolution encouraging the President to place HQ for United States Space Command at Redstone Arsenal

MONTGOMERY– Governor Kay Ivey on Tuesday signed Senate Joint Resolution 63 to continue encouraging the President of the United States, the United States Secretary of Defense and the United States Secretary of the Air Force to immediately proceed in establishing a permanent headquarters for United States Space Command at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama.

The governor issued the following comment: “Alabama Republicans and Democrats – along with the facts – agree the U.S. Space Command Headquarters belongs in Huntsville, Alabama!” – Governor Kay Ivey

Some of the sponsoring seators include, State Sen. Steve Livingston (R-Scottsboro) and State Sen. Jabo Waggoner (R-Vestavia), the resolution reaffirms Redstone Arsenal’s longstanding designation as the preferred site and calls on national leaders to act without further delay.

According to an announcement by U.S. House Armed Services Committee, Mike Rogers on a podcast located on Auburn University’s McCray Institute’s “Cyber Focus” Rogers confirmed that the decision for the United States Space Command would finalized this month.
