FT. PAYNE-The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports a multi-vehicle crash near Ft Payne has taken the life of a Ft. Payne woman:
“A multi-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 5:25 p.m. Friday, August 14 has claimed the life of a Ft. Payne woman.
Colleen K. Jones, 70, was fatally injured when the 1999 Toyota Camry she was driving was struck by a 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche driven by John David Andrew Twilley, 40, of Ft. Payne. After the initial impact, the Camry was struck by a 2000 Ford Crown Victoria LX driven by Matthew C. Dunn, 29, of Cedar Bluff. Jones was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The crash occurred on U.S. 11 near the 223-mile-marker, approximately one mile south of Ft. Payne, in DeKalb County.
Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.”
