Bessie Faye Epps Hughes, age 82, of Fort Payne, passed away March 4, 2025 at her residence. Mrs. Hughes was born in Fort Payne on June 19, 1942 to the late Henry Oscar and Era Georgia Fike Epps. She was a retired seamstress and attended Delmar Missionary Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be 2:00pm Friday, March 7th, at the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Roger Redden officiating. Burial will follow in the Walker’s Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday from 12:00 noon until the 2:00pm hour of service.
Mrs. Hughes is survived by her children, Anita Hughes (Terry Evatt) and Bruce Hughes; grandchildren, Josh Hughes (Brittney), Zoy Ferguson-Gulas (Christian), and Daniel Hughes (Katie); and great-grandchildren, Samantha (Lulu) Evatt, Abby Ferguson, Izzy Ferguson, Rivers Evatt, Annie Ferguson, Easton Ferguson, Mary Whaley, and Connor Fountain.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Chris Evatt; and brothers Bobby Epps and Mack Epps.
