It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Jennifer Lee Jemmott Darling, age 43 on January 21, 2025, in Huntsville, AL. She was surrounded by her loving family.
Jen was born on March 29, 1981, in Amsterdam, NY and was the daughter of Ronald Jemmott Jr. (Deborah) and Deborah Miller (Patrick). Jennifer was born and raised in Amsterdam, graduating from Amsterdam High School in 1999.
Jen was known for her sense of humor, spirited personality and unimaginable strength and courage. From the day she was born we knew this girl was determined to live life to the fullest…and that she did! She was a shining light in the many lives she touched.
Jen met her soulmate and future husband, Joshua Darling, in 2005 and together they enjoyed living in many different states, mostly throughout the South, and enjoying all the sights and adventures in each. They were married on June 15, 2012.
Jen is also survived by her brothers, Ronald Jemmott III (Seema Aziz) and Nicholas Jemmott (Amy); stepbrothers, Michael Miller and Connor Hoffman (Julia White); stepsister, Cassandra Morano (Michael); and grandmother, Frances Hopkins. She will be dearly missed by many aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Ronald & Dolores Hopkins and paternal grandparents, Ronald Sr. & Margherita Jemmott.
To honor Jen’s memory, family and friends will gather together for a Celebration of Life at a later date in South Carolina, a place that Jen was very much looking forward to returning to this year.
Jennifer fought long and hard to overcome both cancer and lymphedema. There is little known in the medical field to effectively treat severe cases of lymphedema. Please consider making a memorial contribution in her honor to lymphedema research at Lymphatic Education & Research Network. lymphaticnetwork.org.
