Mr, Melvin Loyd Bowman, the husband of Sandra Bowman, passed away Sunday, January 19, 2025, in Lexington, at the age of 81. Mr. Bowman was born in Jackson, TN, on April 6, 1943, to the late Lloyd P. Bowman and Ruth Horton Bowman. He was a retired factory worker for Century Electric. Mr. Bowman loved going to church and was a member of Lighthouse Apostolic Church. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. He also loved crafts and working in his wood shop, and he enjoyed picnics and camping.
Mr. Bowman is survived by his wife of 56 years, Sandra Adams Bowman; his son, Chris Bowman; his daughter Katrina McCrury (Caleb); a brother, Devon Bowman; two grandchildren: Aaron Newlin and KaSandra Newlin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters: Linda Jowers and Ruthie Mae Sumler.
Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at 2:00 PM, in the Chapel of Pafford Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will be at Pafford Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 21, from 5:00 until 9:00 PM, and on Wednesday from 9:00 AM until time of service at 2:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Lighthouse Apostolic Church Building Fund, and may be mailed to the pastor’s address at 431 Sunset Dr., Lexington TN 38351.
