Iris Maxine Matthews, 82, passed away Friday, January 17, 2025, at her home in Pontotoc. She was born on October 30, 1942, in Pontotoc, MS to Olice Lavirl and Lodia Walker White. A mother and homemaker, she attended Algoma High School and had worked for many years at the Market Basket.
Survivors include her children, David, Bobby (Sheila), Sheila (Greg), and Jeff (Krystal), her grandchildren, Allen, Michael, Barry, and Kiera, and her great-grandchildren, Lyla Jane and Charlie Ann.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Olice Eudean White, her sister, Wandalene White Campbell, her husband, Bobby Sanford Matthews, and her granddaughter, Kasandra Shelaine Matthews.
Services will be Monday, January 20, 2025, at 11AM at Tutor Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc. Visitation will be Sunday, January 19th 5-8PM and Monday, January 20th 10AM until service time. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Tony White, Michael Matthews, Allen Matthews, Perry Matthews, Bobby Campbell, Barry Matthews, Lee Matthews, and Timmy Matthews.
