Randall “Keith” Poe, 56, of Huntsville, Alabama, passed away on December 2, 2024, at home due to complications of chronic medical conditions including chronic kidney disease.
Keith was born in Huntsville, Alabama to Ruthie Hancock Poe and Albert Jasper Poe, Jr on August 7, 1968. He attended Butler High School and graduated in 1986. He earned a degree in Physics from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. He worked as an Electrical Engineer for Jacobs Technology for most of his career.
On any given day, Keith could be found listening to or making music, playing or watching sports, or bragging about his wife and kids. He was a talented musician and singer with an encyclopedic knowledge of music trivia. While he spent most of his time playing bass, keyboard, or saxophone, he would play any instrument he could get his hands on. He played softball, flag football, volleyball, and golf whenever he was not busy watching the Crimson Tide or the Dallas Cowboys. He never met a problem he did not think he could solve and was convinced that, if he could not solve it, one of his kids probably could.
Keith is survived by his wife, Julie Byrd Poe; daughters, Lynnlee, Alyssa, Abigail; sons, Evan, Gabriel, Stephen; sister, Jennie Poe; father, Albert Poe; and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his mother, Ruthie Poe.
A celebration of Keith’s life will be held at The Dwelling Place on December 8, 2024, at 1:30 pm with Pastor Patrick Penn officiating.
In his memory, please consider a memorial to Microwave Dave Music Education Foundation at microwavedavemef.org and registering to be an organ donor.
