Vanessa Lynn Shoobridge McWhirter, beloved wife and daughter, died at home November 20, 2024 at the age of 44. Vanessa was born on February 15, 1980 to Richard and Kathy Shoobridge, the older of two children.
Vanessa spent her early years in Indiana near her grandparents. After earning a degree in art at the Art Institute of Houston, Texas she moved to Starkville, Ms. On July 12, 2002, Vanessa married her sweetheart James Edward McWhirter.They began their life together in Starkville where Vanessa was a Data Management Specialist and James is a Systems Architect, both at Mississippi State University.
Vanessa is survived by her husband James of twenty-two years, her parents Richard and Kathy Shoobridge, her grandfather Robert Shoobridge, and her in-laws Edward and Mary McWhirter. She is preceded in death by her son Sean Thomas McWhirter, and her sister Kimberly Shoobridge.
Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. at Welch Funeral Home on November 25, 2024, with the memorial service following at 11:00 a.m.
