Jay BirdFuneral services for Mr. William Henry “Jay Bird” Allen, age 74, are scheduled for 3 PM, Tuesday, April, 30, 2013 in the chapel of Pafford Funeral Home in Scotts Hill with Bro. Kenneth Price and Bro. William Duke officiating. Interment will follow in Gray’s Chapel Cemetery. Mr. Allen passed away early Monday in Lexington. He was born May 20, 1938 in Benton County to the late William Patterson Allen and Susie Hopper Allen. He was a self-employed Logger and carpenter, enjoyed gardening and wood-work, and was happy as long as he was working. He was a member of Cedar Grove Pentecostal Church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Joyce Austin Allen, twelve children, Timmy (Shirley) Allen, Sammy (Wendy) Allen, Kenny (Angela) Allen, Charles Rosson, Johnny (Tracy) Rosson, Ronnie (LeAnn) Rosson, Tammy Sue Allen, Cammy Smith, Sandy (Jeff) Lindsey, Brenda (Gene) Hicks, Rose (Joe) Galbraith, and Charlotte (Paul) Moore, a brother, Albert Allen, two sisters, Brenda Clark and Frances Doyle, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
