FLORENCE – An all-day police standoff with a barricaded assault suspect ended today at about 4:10p. The suspect, Terry Hawkins of Florence had been holed-up in the attic of his girlfriend’s house on Nance Street since sometime yesterday afternoon.

The situation ended when Florence S.W.A.T. Team officers made a tactical entry. The entry came after several hours of unsuccessful negotiation attempts.

Suspect Terry Hawkins enroute to ambulance for medical care.
Hawkins appeared to be weak from his ordeal, but otherwise showed no tromatic signs of injury as he was wheeled into the ambulance.
