FLORENCE 2:53pm – Tear gas fired. Suspect still inside no communication house surrounded.
1:40pm – Florence Police are presently surrounding a single family home on Nance Street. A man who is being hunted for assaulting his step-father Friday is believed to be inside.
The standoff began around 9:00 today in the West Florence neighborhood when Terry Hawkins, believed to be 40 years old, barricaded himself in the attic of the house. Police tell The Quad-Cities Daily that Terry has not responded to a cell phone that was tossed into the house. A robot is expected to be deployed shortly as of this writing.
