FLORENCE – Terry Wayne Myers, an individual that has been in the Florence / Lauderdale County Detention Center since March 25th 2013, escaped in the early hours of the morning, according to Sheriff Ronnie Willis.
The Sheriff told The Quad-Cities Daily, said “Myers escaped through a vent in his cell, climbed to the roof and escaped from there.”
Myers had been on work release for a Theft of Property conviction, and walked off from the Work Release Center. He was captured and was put into the Florence/Lauderdale County Detention Center.
According the Sheriff, at the time of the escape Myers was wearing the green jumpsuit issued to him by Detention Center.
“Law enforcement throughout the Shoals area are actively searching for Myers” Willis added.
Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Myers should contact the Shoals Area Crime Stoppers at 256-386-8685, the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s office at 256-760-5768. On Monday (today), the main Sheriff’s number (760-5757) is inactive due to the Lauderdale County Courthouse being closed.
