Mrs. Delzeta Agatha WynterOur dear mother Delzeta Agatha Wynter passed away on December 12, 2023, in Huntsville, Alabama, at the age of 90. She came into this world on September 12, 1933, to parents Sydney Pinnock and Cordelia Williamson in May Pen, Jamaica. She leaves behind her sister Delseta Cox, and her brothers Noel Pinnock and Fitzalbert Pinnock.

She moved to America in 1966 with the goal of creating a better life for her family. Unfortunately, in 1973 her husband Terrance Wynter passed away before he could see their goal fulfilled. This didn’t stop her from continuing to work on that goal.

She leaves behind a legacy of unconditional love, compassion, giving, and the love of God. Everyone knew that Miss Del or Aunt Del, as she was known to everyone, was always available for advice peppered with tough love or a meal if you were hungry. She always had joke with a touch of old school Jamaican philosophy.

Her favorite thing to do was working in her vegetable or rose garden. She could grow any fruit or vegetable that she put her mind to. If she wasn’t in her garden, she was in the kitchen cooking up one of her favorite Jamaican dishes. If you told her, you were hungry 30 minutes later, she would have cooked up a 3-course meal. Feeding people was one of the things that brought her joy.

She leaves behind 4 of her 7 children, 8 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. There are also the children she has loved along the way that are now adults but remember the love and kindness that Aunt Dell showed them.

The sprite of her love will live in all the lives that she has touched along the way. “She openeth her mouth with wisdom: and in her tongue is the law of kindness”: Proverbs 31:26 King James version.

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 23, 2023, at the Royal Chapel of Memories (4315 Oakwood Avenue NW, Huntsville, AL 35810).

Public viewing will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Friday, December 22, 2023, and 8:30 until 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 23, 2023, at the Royal Funeral Home.
