Roberta Marie PolanRoberta Marie Polan, 89, of Huntsville, Alabama died at the Millenium Senior Assisted Living facility in Huntsville, Alabama of natural causes.

Roberta was born in Hollis, Queens, New York on December 1, 1933 to Robert and Amelia McDougall. She attended The Mary Louis Academy, an all-girls private Catholic college preparatory academy, in Jamaica Estates, Queens, New York. Upon graduation she was employed as a secretary in the Patents and Copyright Division of the American Broadcasting Company (ABC) in Manhattan, New York where she worked prior to the birth of her children. For the remainder of her life she was a devoted wife and mother. Her interests were mostly artistic. She was a China painting instructor and enjoyed sharing her talent with her students.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert McDougall and Amelia Grigo McDougall, sister Alice Beecher and husband Marvin Polan. She is survived by her son, Mark Herbert Polan Haucke (Viktoriia), and daughter, Noel Haucke Pitman, relatives from North Carolina (Eileen Kromm Corlett and Walter Kromm), New Jersey (Henry and Gail Polan), and their respective families.

The visitation celebrating her life will be conducted at the Berryhill Funeral Home in Huntsville, Alabama on Tuesday, December 5 at 3:00 and 4:00 p.m., with a memorial service following at 4:00p.m.
