Larry Brown Jones, 77, passed away September 18, 2023, at NMMC-Tupelo, MS. Larry was born in Pontotoc on November 28, 1945, to Billy and Evelyn Brown Jones. He was a 40-year employee of Day Brite Lighting in Tupelo. He raised cattle on his home farm in Pontotoc. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He studied nature and could name all plants from grasses to trees. He enjoyed feeding and watching his birds and woodworking.
Survivors include his daughter, Laurie Jones of Pontotoc; his son, Michael Jones(Wendy) of Murfreesboro, TN; his grandsons, Brad Jones of Pontotoc and Owen, Drew, and Luke Jones of Murfreesboro, TN; the mother of his children, Johnnie Jones; special caregiver and friend, Kay Warren; and his brother, Claude Jones(Anne) of Pontotoc.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Joe Jones and Steve Jones; and his sister, Linda Jones Wingo.
Funeral Services will be Thursday, September 21, 2023, at 2PM at Tutor Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc with Bro. Ken Corley officiating. Visitation will begin at 12PM and continue to service time. Burial will be in Pontotoc City Cemetery alongside of his parents and brother. Tutor Memorial Funeral Home of Pontotoc is in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers will be George Jones, Grant Jones, Brad Jones, and Owen Jones.
