Dr. Andre Ebbenezzra Miller, PhD, began his earthly journey on December 18, 1961, in Madison County, Alabama born to the late Mary Alice Miller and George Malone Sr. He entered into eternal rest on Saturday, August 19, 2023. He was preceded in death by his brothers Chris Caudle, Larry Harris, Schuyler Garrison, and Richard Twitty.
Andre began his dedication to the Lord by becoming a member at a young age at New Hope Cumberland Presbyterian Church in America in Madison, Alabama. Later, Andre became a member of First Missionary Baptist Church in Huntsville, Alabama, where he served faithfully as a member of the Usher board. He was known to be a man of faith and serving the lord by practicing his faith for everyone to see and learn from.
After graduating from Bob Jones High School, Andre continued his studies by receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Tuskegee University. Andre worked for 37 years at NASA as an outstanding Engineer and Branch Chief. He received multiple awards for his work including the NASA Outstanding Leadership Medal in 2018. While employed at NASA, Andre continued to pursue additional post graduate degrees to include a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Alabama A&M University and a PhD in Industrial & System Engineering from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. After receiving his MBA at Alabama A&M University, Andre decided to teach engineering classes part time.
Andre was involved with many things in his community, especially participating in the Meals on Wheels program, something he cared deeply for and often found joy in doing. He was a caring, generous, and hardworking person not only at work but in his personal life. Andre was very family oriented, often spending time with his family whether it was a special gathering or checking in on love ones to spend time with them. In his spare time, he loved watching his favorite teams play football, the University of Alabama and the Dallas Cowboys, or working in his garden.
Andre leaves to cherish his memories his daughters Morgan Miller and Ashely Brewer; his grandchildren Abigail Brewer and Edward Brewer; siblings: his sisters Sharon Triggs; Fibbiyon Miller (Ron); Dominque Melton; and Sheena Holden; and his brothers Ralph Malone; George Malone Jr. (Maria); Richard Malone Garrison; Gregory Miller (Sheraton); Alfred LaShawn Malone; and Fernando Holden (Saundra). He was also blessed with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Andre will be greatly missed by his family and many friends, but his memories will live on forever.
Funeral service will be 12:00 noon, Saturday, August 26, 2023, at the New Hope Cumberland Presbyterian Church in America (28520 SW Wall Street, Madison, AL 35756) with Pastor Roderick Stallworth officiating. Interment will be in the New Hope Community # 2 Cemetery. Dr. Miller will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral time.
Public viewing will be held from 12:00 noon until 6:00 p.m., Friday, August 25, 2023, and 8:30 until 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 26,2023, at the Royal Funeral Home.
