Joe Pat Morris, age 65 of Winchester, passed away on Sunday, July 16, 2023, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. A native of Franklin County, he was born on December 24, 1957, to the late David and Louise (Patton) Morris. Joe worked as an electrician for over forty years and owned and operated Bypass Oil and Lube for twelve years. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, and bonfires. He also enjoyed traveling, especially his trips to Bermuda, Jamaica, Key West, Aruba, and the Grand Canyon. His laid back, easy-going, friendly personality made making friends easy for him and he was always ready to lend a helping hand to his friends and family. When he was able, he attended the Church of Christ. Joe is survived by his wife of thirty-five years, Cheryl Botz Morris; children, Michelle (David) Bull, Angela (Jerry) Tatarow, Lynn (Gary) Schaufler, and Stephanie Summers; grandchildren, Whitney and Aaron Bull, Jeremy and Jake Tatarow, Matthew and Laura Schaufler, Ryan Summers, and Preston Reed; brother, David (Pamela) Morris; special friends Sue Lytle, Sunny Elliott, and Tom Lang; nephews, Chris (Lisa) Morris, and Abe (Beth) Morris; and several cousins and other relatives. A memorial gathering will be held from 5-8pm on Friday, July 21, 2023, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
