Peggy Jean Griffin Austin went to her heavenly home on Saturday, June 17th, 2023, from Limestone Health Facility. She was born December 18th, 1950, to Bernard W. “Shorty” Griffin and Stella Taylor Griffin in Nashville, TN.
Peggy leaves behind her sisters Patricia “Ann” Willard (Kenneth) and Barbara Groce. Nieces: Kim Miller (Jason), Kristie Crouch (Brian) and Amy Biggerstaff (Brian); and nephews: Kenny Willard (Crystal), Jeff Groce (Brandy), Brian Groce (Nancy). Fourteen great-nieces and nephews; six great-great-nieces and nephews; and a multitude of other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jackie Austin and special friend and caregiver, Larry Evans.
Peggy loved her family, her church, and everyone she met. Even though she lost her sight, and her health was not good, she was always thankful to God for everything she had. She was an amazing woman and an inspiration to everyone who knew her. She was a faithful church member until her health prevented her from going.
The funeral service will be Thursday, June 22nd, 2023, at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home, at 2:00 p.m., with Tim Keenum officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 12:00 to 1:45 p.m., at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Jeff Groce, Brian Groce, Dalton Groce, Kenny Willard, Austen Willard, and Levi Biggerstaff. Burial will be at Copeland Cemetery.
