Dorthy Josephine Jackson, 90, of Athens, passed away June 17th, 2023. Mrs. Jackson was born on June 14th, 1933, Ira and Elizabeth (Bevils) Hogan.
Mrs. Jackson is survived by her daughter Tanya Hancock (Rodney); sons Darry Jackson (Mary) and Dennis Jackson (Portia); seven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; son-in-law Roger Pylant; a host of nieces and nephews; and several friends.
Mrs. Jackson was preceded in death by her parents Ira and Elizabeth Hogan; husband Charles Jackson of sixty-one years; daughter Lagatha Pylant; three brothers; and one sister.
The funeral service will be Wednesday, June 21st, 2023, at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home, at 11:00 a.m., with Spencer Hardiman and Brandon Pylant officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 20th, 2023, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Jason Pylant, Rodney Hancock, Brandon Pylant, Roger Pylant, Derrick Pylant, and Patrick Jackson. Burial will be at Hasting Cemetery.
She loved to sing, and her church family. She always had a smile.
