Doris Faye Williams  Doris Faye Kinkaid Williams would describe herself as “just a homemaker” but she was infinitely more.

Doris was born September 26, 2926, the DAUGHTER of Hildred Kehn and Robert John Kinkaid.

In her youth she was a CHAMPIONSHIP ROLLER SKATER who competed at the National level. Her BEAUTIFUL SINGING VOICE
was trained at the Sorbonne in Paris. She led and participated in choirs in churches and communities around the world including , most recently, the Huntsville Community Choir and All Saints Lutheran Church.

DEVOTED WIFE to USAF (ret) officer Lt. Col. Gerald Williams (dec’d) for 54 years, packing up an increasingly large family to travel with him from base to base every 2-3 years.

LINGUIST. Doris learned the language of every country she traveled to and learned some languages, “just because”, eventually learning ten different languages.

DIPLOMAT. Doris taught her family to appreciate the culture and history of every place they traveled to. She treated everyone she met with dignity and respect and was equally at home picnicking in the desert with a village chieftain and attending the coronation of the Shah of Iran.

SCOUT LEADER Doris started scouting programs everywhere she went and has helped train generations of community leaders in four countries and three states.

NATURALIST . Doris loved growing things, plants, animals, and people. Her photographs of nature decorate her home. Our house was always full of pets from snakes to pigs and baby farm animals. Doris was an organic farmer fifty years before it was a fad. A newspaper column Wildflowers by the Wayside grew up around her expertise in flowers.

LIFELONG LEARNER Doris enjoyed the meticulous research and documentation of creating an extensive family genealogy. She was excited every time she found and met a new cousin. For quiet recreation, Doris seldom read a novel; her preference was nonfiction so she could learn something. In Huntsville, when she could no longer participate in the Oscher Lifelong Learning Institute, she bought a college level
textbook to teach herself chemistry.

The accomplishment she was most proud of, however, was being the MOTHER of five: Susan Aycock (Melvin), Joanne Williams (dec’d), Carolgene Williams, Charles Williams (Janelle), Gerald, Jr. Williams (Cynthia); the GRANDMOTHER of twelve Amanda Aycock Skok, Matthew Aycock (Jean), Nathaniel Aycock, Chris Randall (Amy), Kimberly Randall, Dawson Williams, Myra Williams, Truman Williams, Nolan Williams, Courtney Williams Eschmann (Casey), Spencer Williams and Morgan Williams. and the GREAT GRANSMOTHER of 8 children. Tug Micah & Madeline Phillips, Sophie & Hattie Randall, Miriam, Samuel, Matthew Jeremiah & Jesse Aycock.
