Madison County Deputies Respond To Welfare Check; Find Woman Dead In Hazel Green Possible Murder Suicide

HAZEL GREEN-The Madison County sheriff’s Department issued a press release concerning a possible murder suicide in Hazel Green.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to a welfare check on Chelle Mill Lane around 11:15 pm Wednesday night, Janauary 18. When they arrived, they found a female dead inside the residence.

Investigators with the Madison County Sheriff’s Office identified the female as Jennifer Lepore, 43, of Hazel Green. The exact cause of death, as well as how long she has been dead, is pending autopsy results. Investigators learned that Mrs. Lepore’s husband, Jamie Lepore, 46, of Hazel Green, and their two kids had not been seen recently.

They were able to determine a possible location for Mr. Lepore in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and contacted Murfreesboro Police Department for assistance. Officers with their agency went to an address to attempt to locate Mr. Lepore and the kids. They discovered what appears to be a murder-suicide involving Mr. Lepore and the two children, Jesse Lepore, 9 years old, and Sean Lepore, 11 years old.

Sheriff’s Office investigators are working with Murfreesboro Police investigators to piece together all the details and timeline of events. Sheriff Turner said, “It is truly a tragic situation to lose an entire family, especially in this manner. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of the victims”.

The Murfreesboro Police Department will be handling the possible murder-suicide investigation.”
