Mrs. Sharon Denise Barnes Spruiel, of Arab, Alabama, passed away at her residence on January 8, 2023 at the age of 62.
Mrs. Spruiel was born on September 21, 1960 to Jim Barnes and Mary King Barnes. She was raised in the Hulaco community of Arab, Alabama and had a love for traveling and making great memories. She enjoyed cruises, relaxing on a beach with her toes in the sand, and visiting the Smokey Mountains. Her family expressed how Evan Spruiel, Ragan and Kamryn Barnes were her pride and joy. She always loved having them around. She was a southern girl through and through while maintaining her small family farm, tending to the chickens and sheep, and working in the yard.
Mrs. Spruiel leaves behind memories to be cherished by her daughter Valerie Spruiel, two brothers; Larry Barnes (Pat) and Danny Barnes (Charlotte); sister; Sandra Grace; grandson; Evan Spruiel. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Sharon is preceded in death by her husband Thomas Spruiel Jr.; two Sons; Wesley and Jacob and one brother; Mike Barnes.
A public visitation with the family is scheduled for Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at 12:00 P.M. – 2:00 P.M. at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel. A funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M. at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Arab Memorial Cemetery. Randy L. Blakely and Chris Claborn will be officiating the service. Escorting Mrs. Spruiel to her final resting place are Tyler Barnes, Evan Spruiel, Jammey Light, Michael Light, Lynn Tompkins and Kevin Golden
In lieu of flowers the family has suggested that donations be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital for Cancer Research.
