James “Lee” McCormack – Obituary

LeeJames “Lee” McCormack died on March 1st, 2013, at his home in Florence, Ala. He was 53.

Lee was born on July 31, 1959, to James B. and Dorothy McCormack in Florence, Ala. He graduated from Colbert Heights High School in Tuscumbia and attended various trade and technical schools where he studied welding and machining.

Over the years, Lee has enjoyed a variety of jobs from popping shrimp heads when he was a teenager in Key West, Fla. to industrial facility maintenance. Some of the businesses that he has worked for include Shoals American, Brown and Root, Daniels Construction, ServiceMaster Industries, and he worked many years at ECM Hosptial. Lee ultimately became an idependent contractor, starting his own company, Turbine Services Incorporated, in 1995. He was an excellent welder/machinist and put his expertise to use in the turbine repair industry as a contractor for many major companies all over the United States, Mexico, Ecuador and the Phillippines. He touched lives and made many friends along the way.

Lee enjoyed camping, boating, fishing, working on go-carts, riding four-wheelers and his motorcycle.

He was preceded in death by his father, James B. McCormack; and grandparents, Frank McCormack, Mattie McCormack, John Hood and Rosa Hood Mayhall.

Lee is survived by his son, Adam McCormack; mother, Dorothy Burbank; brother, Dallas McCormack; sister, Ruth Ann Wagner; several nieces; nephews; aunts; and cousins.

In keeping with Lee’s wishes, there will be no funeral service.
