Robert ‘Bob’ Theodore Howe – Obituary

BobRobert ‘Bob’ Theodore Howe was born to John Howe and Amy Struck Howe in Chicago, Illinois. He left life March 5, 2013 after a valiant battle with leukemia. Following a 24 year career in the Navy he retired as a Senior Chief, in 1978. He worked with Itertek, Grumman, Martin Marietta Astrospace and Lockheed. He is preceded in death by his parents, John Howe and Amy Howe Juron; a caring stepfather, Jerald Juron; sister, Janet Howe Schander and great-great-grandson, Kevin Howe.

December 2, 1958, Bob married Dorothy Auston and became a loving stepfather to her children.

Survivors include stepchildren, Elaine Auston Tubbs of New Hope; Clayton Howe, Sr. of Harrisonburg, VA and David Howe of New Hope; grandchildren, Edward Tubbs of Abu Dhabi, UAE, Kimberly Tubbs of St. Paul, MN, John Tubbs of Stuart, NE, Karen Howe and Clayton Howe, Jr.; nine great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; nephews, Keith Schander, wife, Victoria, and their children, Emma and Cora of Riverside, IL, and Brian Schander, wife, Margaret, and their children, Gracie and Luke, of Naperville, IL; and his special friend, Joan Ash of Deming, New Mexico.

Burial will be at sea.

Remembrances should be made to the American Cancer Society.
