Kirby McCord Carpenter, 36, resident of Tippah County, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at his home.

A Celebration honoring Kirby’s life will be 2 PM Saturday, December 17, 2022, in the Heritage Chapel of the Ripley Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery.

Kirby was born May 23, 1986, in Tupelo, MS, to Mattie Jane Michael Jones (Dwayne) and Jerry Carpenter (Tammy). He was a graduate of Kossuth High School and was a proud United States Marine. Known as a “Jack of all trades”, Kirby was a businessman for most of his life who owned and managed two successful business that he sold, multiple rental properties, and was currently Owner and Operator of Mississippi Gold, Silver, and Coin Exchange.

A friend to all that knew him, Kirby lived life fast, worked hard, loved people, and always looked sharp while doing it. He enjoyed fast cars, motorcycles, road trips, trying new foods, especially anything spicy, and fishing. Kicking back with friends and family while listening to good music or riding any backroad were favorite pastimes. Out of all his accomplishments, his children were his greatest pride and joy. He was a wonderful father and although our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing we will meet Kirby again someday.

Visitation will be 2 PM until 8 PM Friday, December 16, 2022, at Ripley Funeral Home.

In addition to his parents, those left to cherish his memories include his partner, Caitlin Spence and their daughter, Enola Dean Carpenter, a son, Townes Plainview Carpenter and his mother Whitney Evans, two sisters, Wendy Page(David) and Kaysie Barnes(Shaun), three brothers, Shannon Carpenter(Teresa), Rocky Carpenter(Marie), and Robbie Carpenter(Jessica), a grandmother, Johnnie Carpenter, three nieces, Mallory Goolsby, Julie Page, and Bristol Barnes, two nephews, Alec Barnes and Conner Page, and a host of family and friends.

He is preceded by his grandparents, Harley and Annie Bell Michael, a grandfather, Fagin Carpenter, and two uncles, Junior Carpenter and Darrell Michael.
