He was a Christian and a faithful member of Bevill’s Chapel Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He enjoyed sharing his faith in Christ by making and gifting others with “JESUS” plaques – of which he had made over a hundred. He enjoyed automobiles and was gifted at repairs and maintenance.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Norman & Mary Alberta Pendergrass; His brothers: Edwin Pendergrass and Eugene Pendergrass; His sisters: Inez Waldrep and Lucinda Alexander; His father-in-law and mother-in-law, Perry A. and Bertha Hopper Wells.

Surviving family members include his wife of over 59 years, Roberta Wells Pendergrass; Sisters: Mildred Murphree and Linda Sue Parsons; He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, his sister-in-law, Lovell Whisenant, and by his brother-in-law, Terrell Wells.

The family will receive friends on Saturday at 11am at Bevill’s Chapel Baptist Church. Funeral services with military honors will follow at Noon at the church with Pastor Benny Berry officiating. Burial will then be in Bevill’s Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bevill’s Chapel Baptist Church or to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospitals.

Hazel Green Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
