It is with great sadness that the family of Jerry Rutland, 78 of Nauvoo, announces his passing on November 11, 2022
Jerry passed at his residence surrounded by Janis, his wife of 55 years and his three daughters, Delanna Renfroe of Nauvoo, Meeka Rutland of Talladega, and Janna Benson (John) of Jasper, one granddaughter, Jerica Bagwell (Danny) of Nauvoo and two grandsons, William and Braxton Benson of Jasper.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Bessie Rutland, brothers Erista, Howard, Jimmy and Tommy Rutland, sisters Olean Nicklas, Frances Hamm, Reba Birdsong, and Barbara Prescott.
He is survived by one brother, Roy Rutland of Knoxville, Tennessee, a host of nieces and nephews that loved him and whom he loved, many friends and his church family at Double Springs Church of Christ.
Jerry was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Collins-Burke Funeral Home, funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the Collins-Burke Chapel. Burial will be at Wilson Chapel Cemetery. Vance Hutton and Justin Guin will officiate, Johnny Alexander will interpret.
