Wayne Kemp Cook, age 82 of Lynchburg, passed away on September 23, 2022 at his residence. He was born on March 6, 1940 in Davidson County to the late James and Mildred (Wright) Cook. He retired as a dairy farmer. After retirement he loved to fish and spend time with his family. Wayne was also one of the original member of the Whiskey Runners Car Club. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Anna Cook; and brother, Tommy Cook. He is survived by his children, Ricky (Jill)Cook of Lewisburg, Karen (Jimmy) Summers of Whitehouse and Kenneth (Kathryn) Cook; grandchildren, Josh R. Cook, Courtney Cook, Chelsea Cook, Justin Summers, Tyler (Lauren) Summers, Chelsea Cook Guthrie and Baylee Cook (fiancé Blake Johnson); two great grandchildren, Mason Summers and Layah Perryman. Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 25, 2022 from 4pm-8pm at Jennings-Moore-Cortner Funeral Home.
