Graveside Services for Mrs. Mary Lou McCain, age 96 of Cragford, will be held on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. at Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Donald Spradlin officiating.
Mrs. McCain was a lifelong resident of Clay County and a graduate of Cragford High School in 1945. She worked for Clegg manufacturing and Higgins manufacturing for about 20 years as a seamstress. Once she left work, she became a stay at home wife and mother. Playing the Piano was her passion. She played piano at Victory Baptist church and Shiloh Baptist church in Lineville, and when asked to assist at events, she was always willing to help. She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church and loved God, her family, and everyone she met. She always loved telling jokes and laughing with everyone.
She is survived by her son, Scooter McCain (Debra) of Ashland; two grandchildren: Ricky McCain (Gail) of Cragford and Kristen Chitwood (Tony) of Carrolton, Ga; three great-grandchildren: Josh Waldrop (Heather) of Phenix City, Shae McCain and Kandili McCain, both of Cragford; her niece that was more like a sister, Clara Mauldin of Cragford and her nephew, Junior Parker (Sandra) of Mellow Valley, plus other extended family.
She was preceded in death by her Parents: G.O. and Eula Farrow Miller; her husband, James Byron McCain; and two sisters, Paulene Miller and I.B. Miller
Pallbearers will be Josh Waldrop, Scott Hanna, Junior Parker, Chris Parker, Adam Clark, and Eric Heath.
Her Visitation will be on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 from 12:00 P.M. until 1:30 P.M. at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville. Flowers are accepted, however if you would prefer to do something different, donations can be made towards Compassus Hospice of Roanoke.
Benefield Funeral Home of Lineville is in charge of the arrangements.
