John Larry Kay, 77 of Decatur, passed away on September 3, 2022.
He is survived by his wife, Dola Albitar Kay; his children, Stacey Holt (Adam) and Stephen Kay (Kristy Cagle); two grandchildren, Kaylaa and Dale Holt.
Mr. Kay was a loveable, compassionate person, who loved his family and friends. He was very patriotic, a U.S. Marine Corp veteran and recipient of the Purple Heart. He was a Vietnam Veteran and served as a contractor in Afghanistan for the U.S. government. Mr. Kay was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and son. He served as a deacon in his church. Although a graduate of the University of Alabama, he was an avid Auburn Fan.
The family will be receiving friends Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at Berryhill Funeral Home from 3:00 to 4:00 PM. Services will follow with the Rev. Tim Cole officiating.
