Richard Paul Scott, age 63, of Russellville, passed away on Monday, July 11, 2022, at his sister’s residence.
Richard was an avid outdoorsman. He was always a hard worker and had a strong work ethic. He loved everyone especially his wife, children, mother, siblings, nieces, nephews, and the rest of his family and his friends. He was nicknamed “The Rock” by his nieces & nephews. Richard was a member of the Belgreen Church of Christ. Besides his loving attitude, he had a servant’s heart. Always generous, kind, and caring about his fellowman. He was a good citizen, neighbor, and above all, a faithful follower of Christ.
He is preceded in death by his father, Kermit Lee Scott.
He leaves to cherish her memory his wife of 16 years, Vera Scott; children, Richard Paul Scott, Jr., Gloria Rose Scott, Mark Evan Scott; mother, Adeline Scott; siblings, Tammy Henry (Ronald), Ron Scott (Renee), Cindy Green (Keith), Amanda Williamson (Frank); 7 nieces & nephews; aunts, Mildred Jeske, Estelle Rea; and numerous cousins.
The visitation will be 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Thursday, July 14, 2022, at Spry Memorial Chapel, with the service following at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel. Officiating the service will be Bro. Jackie Richardson, Gary Carter, and George Hutto. The song leaders will be Robin Grissom and Jimmie Smith. The pall bearers will be Darryl Taylor, Frankie Taylor, Jack Hester, Gary Hargett, Jeff Hargett, and Willie Lindsey. The honorary pallbearers will be Billy Ford, Steve Balentine, Jimmy Kuykendall, Johnny Peck, and Men of Belgreen Church of Christ.
