MUSCLE SHOALS-Kick off Handy Week with some great music and food. Billy Lawson will return to Champy’s in Muscle Shoals on July 21, 2022, for the next installment of the “We Rocked the World Songwriters in the Round.” The show starts at 7:00 pm. This month he will be joined by special guest songwriter Jason Matthews.

 

Jason Matthews is a native of Harrells Store, North Carolina and now resides in Nashville. He was named Music Row’s 2006 Breakthrough Songwriter of the Year for his number one single “Must Be Doin’ Somthin’ Right” cut by Billy Currington. Matthews has written several other hits including “Break Down Here” by Julie Andrews.

The Shoals’ own Billy Lawson has had several cuts from major artists including George Strait, Kenny Rogers, Blake Shelton, Tim McGraw, Charley Pride, among others. Lawson is owner Wishbone Studios in Muscle Shoals.

 

“We Rocked the World Songwriters in the Round” is a year-long series hosted by Colbert County Tourism and the Muscle Shoals National Heritage Area. It is held the third Thursday monthly at Champy’s Famous Fried Chicken. It is located at 120 E Second Street, Muscle Shoals, Alabama.
