James Braxton Fly – Obituary

Mr. James Braxton Fly, 86, of Huntsville, passed away on Saturday February 9, 2013.

He was born in Greenville, North Carolina on July 6, 1926 to the late William and Maude Fly. He graduated from East Carolina University. He was enlisted in the Army Air Corps from December 28, 1944 until August 21, 1946. Mr. Fly retired from the NASA Marshall Space Flight Center procurement office as a supervisory contracting officer and was a proud member of the American Legion Post 237.

He is preceded in death by his wife Jacqueline and brother Billy.

He is survived by his daughter Mary Lou Fly Akin, son Jimmy Fly, granddaughters Lori (Nick) Cardwell, Lisa (BJ) Holloway, Jacki Akin, Jessica Akin, great grandson Braxton Cardwell, and sister Frances Hollowell.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday February 16 at 2pm in the Spry Funeral Home Chapel with a visitation 1 hour prior to service.
