Olen Ray Brock, age 83 of Sparta, passed away on Monday, January 31, 2022 at his home. He was born on March 1, 1938 to the late James Willis and Sarah (Hickenbottom) Brock. Ray worked as a mechanist at B.F. Goodrich in Tullahoma where he later retired after 30 years of labor. After retirement, Ray worked at a convenience store in Sparta with his brother part-time. Ray, who grew up in the Church of God, was a hardworking, honest family man and loved being outdoors. He walked two to three miles every day, fished as often as he could, and loved to grill with his family. He also, enjoyed cheering on the Tennessee Titans and the Los Angeles Dodgers. In addition to his parents, Ray is preceded in death by his wife, Maxine Brock; brothers, Alvin Brock, Howard Brock, Earl K. Brock, Willis Dale Brock, Tony Brock, and sister, Willene Dunn. He is survived by his loving children, Elisha Lafevers of Winchester, Donald Brock of Winchester; grandchildren, Travis Soloman (Rachel Keele), Gage Brock, and Chandler Brock; great-grandchildren, Chloe, Caden, and Eldon Soloman; sister, Anna Ruth Prater of Sparta; brother, Lynell (Ann) Brock of Sparta; sisters-in-laws, Dot Brock of Delaware and Corena Brock of Sparta and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 5pm-8pm on Thursday, February 3, 2022 at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, February 4, 2022 in the Moore-Cortner Chapel with Rev. Todd Coutta officiating. Interment will follow at Franklin Memorial Gardens.
