Martha Anita Burney Poe, age 80, Phil Campbell, AL. passed away December 15, 2021 at her home. She was retired from Marion Co. Board of Education, where she was a teacher at Phillips Elementary School in Bear Creek, AL. for 31 years. She was a member of Hackleburg Church of Christ.
Her visitation will be Sunday December 19, 2021 from 12:00NOON – 3:00PM at Pinkard Funeral Home in Haleyville, AL., funeral at 3:00PM in the chapel, with Rick Collum and Vance Hutton officiating. Burial to follow in Bear Creek Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Freddie Eugene Poe; son, Eric Poe, his wife Shae; grandson, River Scott Poe; sister, Helen Mann, her husband Royce; nieces, Sharon M. Boshell, Karen Kirkland, her husband Ronald and Myra Parson, her husband Scott; a host of family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wallace Bob Burney and Verna Wade Burney; brother, Wallace Wade Burney.
