John Henry Mills, 80, died Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at Helen Keller Hospital, Sheffield, AL. He was born in Lee County, MS to Luther Taylor and Lena Mae Vest Mills and was a truck driver.
Services will be Saturday, December 18, 11 a.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, AL with Bro. Jerry George officiating. Burial will be in Halltown Cemetery, Vina, AL. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by his wife – Verdie Jeanette Mills, Vina, AL; three sons – John Thomas Mills (Wanda) Michie, TN, Timothy Mills, Vina, AL and Brian Mills (Susanna) Houston, TX; six grandchildren – Duston Mills (Heather), Ashley Mills, Dylan Mills, Peyton Mills, Isabella Wallace and Addison Wallace; five great-grandchildren; two sisters – Linda Elliott of Arkansas and Shirley Foust of Tupelo, MS and two brothers – James Mills of Shannon, MS and Ralph Mills of Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a step-daughter, Jenny Ann Wallace and two grandchildren, Cory and Brooke Mills.
Pallbearers will be Greg Lucas, Michael Card, David Kisor, Jeff Humphries, Larry Humphries and Adam Humphries.
Visitation will be Friday, December 17, 6-9 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL.
