Emily Daisy Crabtree passed away in her home on Sunday, November 28, 2021. Her young and vibrant light was dimmed too soon, as she succumbed to an accidental overdose. Our family wishes to acknowledge her cause of death in solidarity with the over 100,000 American families who are reeling with heartache in a year which has counted a record number of overdoses. Emily, a brilliant culinary artist, was like the chef knives she treasured so dearly: sharp, skilled, beautiful, but also delicate, to be handled with care. Her life’s joys were alternative music, eclectic fashion, and most importantly, her son, Ari Iode Crabtree, who has the exact same blue eyes as hers. She is also survived by her mother and stepfather, Melanie and Andy Yarbrough, her father Joe Crabtree (Robin), her sister, Erica Klauber (Eric), stepsister, Trisha Walker, her grandmother, Mary Jane Crabtree, her grandparents, Hub and Dixie Yarbrough, as well as many extended family members who loved her so very much. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Not One More Alabama (https://www.notonemorealabama.org/) or Children’s Craniofacial Association (www.ccakids.org), to which Emily was an annual donor and fundraiser. She was honored in a private memorial service at Laughlin Service Funeral Home.
