She was a talented quilter and pianist, with a love for singing alto. Some of her fondest memories were gathered around the piano with her parents and sister, Cynthia, singing hymns at family gatherings.
She was a devoted and loving support to her husband, Fred Abel, as they traveled the country during their retirement years attending—and winning—many classic car shows. She especially enjoyed their Wednesday breakfast dates in Fred’s fully restored 1934 Ford coupe.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Fred Abel and her parents William J. ‘Bill’ Waddell and Beatrice Goddard Waddell.
She is survived by her sister, Cynthia Chase (Duffy), a niece and 3 nephews, Brian Chase, Brooke Chase Dunning (Dustin), Brad Chase (Allison) and Michael Chase (Amelia), and 11 great nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her nephew, Joe Abel, who faithfully cared for her during the three years following Fred’s passing.
Her music, kindness, creativity, and love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
