Linda Faye Harris, age 70, of Decherd, passed away on Friday, October 2, 2026, at St. Thomas West in Nashville. She was born on July 13, 1956, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, to the late Calvin Edward and Jobina (Smith) Collins.
In her younger years, Linda enjoyed playing softball and had a special talent for preparing wonderful meals for her family to enjoy. She previously worked for R and B Grocery and later retired from Creekside Market. In her spare time, Linda enjoyed settling in to watch her “second family” on General Hospital or trying to guess the answers while watching The Price Is Right. When she was able, she attended Pelham Valley Church of God of Prophecy.
In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her loving husband, Patrick “Pat” Harris; and brother-in-law, Steve Whitmire.
She is survived by her son, James (Penny) Harris; grandchildren, Josh, Danny, Derek, Brittany, Benley, Jolie, Jessie, Samuel, and Whitley; and sister, Glenda Whitmire.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. from the chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Mt. Garner Cemetery, with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
