Betty Fletcher, 91, of Huntsville, passed away at home December 6, 2021. Betty grew up as a farm girl in Barlow, KY and graduated from Murray State University. She moved to Huntsville with her husband who worked for NASA.
Betty was an educator with Huntsville City Schools for over 20 years, including Ed White and Whitesburg Middle Schools. She was a member of the Church of Nativity, where she was actively involved with the prayer shawl group and made many blankets for First Stop. She loved camping and canoeing and passed that love along to her son.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Richard Fletcher and grandson, Joshua Sievers. Survivors include her children, Lynn Sievers and James Fletcher (Laura); and grandchildren, Jacob Sievers, Melissa Shoemaker, and Jessica Fletcher.
The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Monday, December 13 at the Church of Nativity Chapel. Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery.
