Lauderdale County Corrections Deputy Charged With Bringing Meth Into Detention Center

FLORENCE-On Friday, October 29 a Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office Corrections Deputy arrested and charged with bringing controlled substances into the jail.

According to investigators the two-week long investigation landed Matthew Moran, 20 was arrested for bringing contraband into the Lauderdale County Detention Center. Moran was arrested after a package he was to deliver to inmates was confiscated by a deputy at the jail.  According to the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office press release the package contained crystal meth.

Charge against Moran are attempt to commit a controlled substances crime, distribution of a controlled substance, and promoting prison contraband.

According to LCSO other arrest are pending over the next few days.
